Your personal dream journal
We process your email address for sign-in. Your account contains the name you provide, your dream texts and titles, dates, categories, moods, interpretations, and favourite, archive and sharing settings. We process these to provide the service and perform our contract with you.
Your dreams are private by default. The application stores them in a PostgreSQL database on a Rackhost VPS. You can request deletion of your account and dreams in the app settings. Deletion removes the account’s dreams and mobile sessions from the active database.
Dictation
Dictation starts only when you press Dictate and grant the required microphone and speech recognition permissions. Your browser or operating system’s speech recognition service processes the audio; this may involve transmission to that provider’s servers. Recognised text appears in the dream input and can be edited before saving. The Álomtérkép server does not receive or store audio recordings. Stop ends dictation, as does navigating away or putting the app in the background. Permissions can be revoked in your device or browser settings.
Dream interpretation
When you choose Dream interpretation or Interpret your dream, we send the dream text to the OpenAI API to produce the requested interpretation. We do not send your email address, account name or location for interpretation. We disable provider storage of the response with store=false. The provider may keep separate security logs; see OpenAI’s data handling documentation.
Do not include names, contact details, identifiers, health information or other sensitive personal data in the dream text. The AI response offers a possible interpretation for personal reflection.
Credit purchases and billing
For web credit purchases and annual Plus subscriptions, we provide Stripe with your account email address and the technical order identifier. We do not send dream texts, interpretations or locations to the payment provider. You enter card details directly on Stripe; Álomtérkép does not receive or store them.
For orders we process email addresses, packages, prices, currencies, subscription and payment identifiers and statuses, billing names and addresses, and the accepted terms version and time of acceptance. These support payment, crediting, invoicing, refunds and fraud prevention. We retain billing and supporting records for 8 years to meet accounting obligations; deleting an account detaches these records rather than deleting them. Technical records for unsuccessful unpaid orders are kept for at most 90 days. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
Public sharing
When you enable the separate sharing option and choose a town or city, the dream’s title, full text, category, recorded date and town or city become readable on the public maps at alomterkep.hu and app.alomterkep.hu. Account details do not appear. We use the town or city centre and do not request your precise location. Sharing is based on your voluntary consent and can be withdrawn at any time by editing the dream. Archiving and deletion also remove it from the public list.
Technical data and retention
We use a session cookie and CSRF protection for secure operation. An unfinished dream may remain in browser session storage until saving or the end of the session. The mobile app keeps the sign-in renewal token in secure device storage. We store your language choice locally on your device so it can be used the next time you open the app. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Sign-in codes are valid for 10 minutes with at most 5 incorrect attempts. To limit abuse, code requests store the email address, a hashed IP address and timestamp; daily cleanup removes these after 24 hours. Web access logs are kept for 14 days. Backups are retained for at most 7 days for recovery.
Town and city search
After you type at least two characters into town and city search, the searched name is sent to Google Places to display matching towns and cities. Search does not request GPS access. Google search results are not stored in your dream journal. The browser’s direct connection may disclose technical connection data to Google. See Google’s privacy policy; use of search is also subject to the Google Maps Platform terms .
Data processors
Rackhost Zrt.: VPS and hosting. OpenAI: separately requested dream interpretation. Zoho ZeptoMail: sign-in email delivery. Mapbox: map display; opening the map loads map data from Mapbox, which may receive technical connection data. Contractual privacy safeguards and provider policies apply to providers outside the EU.
You control your data
You can edit, export and delete dreams in the app. You may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability using the contact address above, and withdraw consent to sharing. You may lodge a privacy complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11., Hungary).
